I finally installed my “new” (newer, but still used) exhaust parts to replace those !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! by some random roadworks

Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!! Kinja'd!!!

same system, Buddy Club Spec 2, just newer. This revised version of the exhaust includes shininess, a name plate, and a new design to the axle-back portion that clears the lower control arms better.

a fairly easy bit of work to replace the exhaust, with the exception of the pressed and welded in bolts on the cat having rusted. So I had to drill those out to replace them.

So, what did you do this weekend?

I reorganized a bunch of stuff in the garage. It was LONG overdue. Too many tools/parts/boxes in too small a space. I can move around more easily now, and not having to pick through a pile of tools to get to the one I need is a great time-saver.

The process was achingly slow, and day by day it didn’t look like I was getting much done. But now stuff that belongs together IS together, and this will help me on future projects.

I did this just recently. I combined a few collections of tools together, identified the duplicates and posted those on craigslist, then sorted all my drawers so they are neat and tidy... for now...

Re-stripped down body panels that needed acid treatments :( All that fresh epoxy on the ground.

Hacked off a stuck lug nut/spinning lug on a friend’s car.

Swivel seals on the Disco. Not difficult, but messy. Took a few hours since I was taking my time.

Won’t know until tomorrow at the very least. EML light came on, a little later check engine. Then I ran over a nail and a bolt. Shortly after that the stability control light came on and the car went into LIMP mode. I was at a wedding so I had it towed home and rented a car.

Nothing. I was going to start some more media blasting but my son wanted me to play in the sandbox and I just couldn’t say no.

Oh, I can’t stand having duplicate tools! Having backup wrenches is one thing, but why the hell would I need two caulk guns? LOL

The thing that I really struggle with is throwing things out. Like boxes. I save all different sizes of boxes because I get a kick out of having the perfect size for shipping or storing items. I broke down about half of what I had for recycling, but the stuff I kept takes up some precious shelf space. Maybe I’ll break those down too, and tape them back up when I’m ready for them...

put a Vance & Hines slip-on muffler on the Dyna, and changed the sprocket ratio and chain on the Yamaha.

bolts and plastic tubs are my hoarding. any old tupperware from the kitchen finds its way to my garage. I REALLY need to sort those out.

No garage work. My ham radio station, however...

Kinja'd!!!

I took a motorcycle ride to “the candy store” (HRO), bought an antenna tuner, and finished putting my HF station on the air.

Oh yeah, I had to go through a bunch of fasteners, too. I have a whole case of just washers, sorted by size.

I’ve managed to avoid ending up with a bunch of Tupperware, but what I do have is buckets- probably about a dozen of them. Two are for washing my car, one has a “bucket head” vacuum on it, one has a bucket bag on it for carrying tools around, and the rest are just taking up space.

The ball seals are a little bit easier to do on a Series, because you don’t have to disassemble the housing. Doesn’t hurt to do so, though.

It really wasn’t a bad job, but it’s a LOT of shit to take apart. It helped that I did wheel bearings and brakes last year so I didn’t have to go inside the hub.

All kinds of people from JoCo to Adam Baldwin were there, but about half of the panels I went to were tabletop gaming related, voice acting, Lord British , or tabletop games + voice actor + Lord British. I REGRET NOTHING

I replaced a stuck caliper and the dead battery on the turd gen and replaced the u-joints and carrier bearing on the truck. I also got shocks and struts ordered for both. Next weekend is planned out.

the advantage of a mini’s size, you can reach all the way to the back window to take your selfie

Pulled the rear diff out of the $500 miata, the part out is commencing. Side note, the guy who was supposed to buy it backed out (offered him a killer deal too) because it wasn’t smooth like his diff. Dude would have gone from an open diff to a VLSD. No skin off my back, I’ll save it for the coupe project.

I installed a transmission kick down switch, fixed the horn (when connected it would blow continuously), and put the hood back on. The last is just temporary since the hinges are bent and need replaced. I also managed to break the armature that went from the trunk lock to the latch so now I can’t open the trunk. One step forward, one step back.
